The Ottawa Carleton Male Choir


Pianist, Aude Urbancic has just completed an artist diploma in collaborative piano at the University of Montreal under Francis Perron. She has completed a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s Degree in music from Mount Alison University. 

Aude performs both as a soloist, and a collaborative pianist from coast to coast. In 2015, she went on her second concert tour of the Maritimes and represented New Brunswick at the CFMTA national piano competition in Vancouver. She also performed in Vancouver in 2017 for the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence and as a soloist in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Ottawa Pops Orchestra.

She has played in many masterclasses including ones lead by Michael McMahon, Laura Lowen, David Lutz, Daniel Taylor, Michael Shade, Aline Kutan, Nathalie Paulin and Emily Hamper. In 2017, Aude attended the Stratford Summer Music Vocal Academy and in 2018, she was a pianist at Opera NUOVA.

Aude has a particular passion for choral music and has worked as a rehearsal pianist under the direction of Alexander Shelley (National Arts Centre) and Laurence Ewashko (the Ewashko Singers). She has also one of the rehearsal pianists for the University of Montreal’s production of Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream under Jean-François Rivet and one of the rehearsal pianist for Opera Nuova’s Magic Flute under Rosemary Thompson. 

In 2018, Aude was the adjudicator for Junior Piano II at the New Brunswick Competitive Festival of Music.

Aude is looking forward to many exciting projects in the coming year including being one of the répétiteurs for Britten’s War Requiem at the (National Arts Centre) and Madama Butterfly (Pellegrini Opera). She also conducts a few choirs including the Ottawa Carleton Male Choir.
